I’m Diana. I am a mom of 5 – two little girls at home and three little boys in heaven. My husband is in the military, we homeschool, and I work from and stay at home. I blog over at Diana Wrote.
My journey with holistic living began after my first child was born. I became fascinated and a bit obsessed with everything “crunchy” and that was even the tagline of my first blog – Confessions of a Crunchy Housewife. I loved making my own baby food, cloth diapering, and baby wearing.
In 2012 we lost twin boys shortly after they were born prematurely, and then another little boy in 2013 due to cardiomyopathy. Our lives have been in a sort of unending upheaval since then. At the start of 2015, I was introduced to essential oils after about a year of hearing my friends gush on them. I was a huge skeptic, poking fun at their claims and assurances they actually worked. Once I had my kit, I was hooked. A month later, I found out I was pregnant – and for the first trimester I didn’t use any oils (or anything else). My pregnancy avoided all medications since we found I carry (and my son had) a rare virus that caused his cardiomyopathy that was activated by some of the medications I took with him and prior to his pregnancy. I used oils sparingly and carefully in my second and third trimester, finding relief when nothing else could be done.
My second daughter was born at the end of 2015 – a full term, perfectly healthy baby. Since then, I’ve been using oils for myself, my older daughter, and my husband on a regular basis. My husband suffers from emotional and physical trauma due to his time in Iraq in 2005, and has found the Freedom Kit from Young Living to be incredibly helpful.
Our family is so thankful for the freedom and health both essential oils and more holistic living has given us. We hope you’ll find a better way of living through our experiences and stories.
